Overview
Matthew has 25 years of legal experience in both transactional law and commercial litigation. He has represented clients before state and federal courts and regulatory agencies around the country. He regularly counsels clients in a range of practice areas, including trademark, copyright, IP licensing, privacy, payment processing, advertising and promotions, and general FTC law.
Matthew received his law degree from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly Hastings College of the Law), where he was the Editor- in-Chief of the Communications and Entertainment Law Journal (Comm/Ent). While at Comm/Ent, and in celebration of its 20 th anniversary, Matthew edited and published a book entitled Forgive Us Our Press Passes: Selected Works by Daniel Schorr a collection of essays by the legendary American journalist.
Born and raised in San Francisco, Matthew began his legal career practicing commercial litigation at Heller Ehrman LLP and later served as in-house counsel at several small startup companies and creative endeavors around the San Francisco
Bay Area. A passionate advocate for the arts, Matthew currently serves on the Civic Arts Commission for the city of Berkeley, California.
